I am a nursery nurse by training and I also have been taught
Baby Signing and Makaton.
I have learnt some British Sign Language but in my opinion it is something that
I will always be learning.
My trial classes will be free, but there is a catch of a questionaire - as warranted...
by the Prince's Trust.
When I am up and running the classes will be £3.50 per family per class. Maximum
of 12 to a class.
I am independant baby signer and not a franchise like so many others, and so, I won't
be charging near £5 per class - my aim is to run classes that are affordable and fun, also I won't suddenly cancel
the classes due to a lack of people in the class, as I don't have a franchise to pay money too.
I have a daughter
of 17mths myself, and I have taught her signing, of which she is using more and more, but I must say it is much nicer to know
when she is hungry rather than tired or vice versa.
To do baby sign, the children and yourself do not need to
have a hearing impairment - there are many benefits to signing with your young child, including the fact that you will be
able to understand them a lot earlier than when they form words.
The classes will be run with the babies/children
present, but will always be cared for by the carers and not by myself.
I am First Aid trained (altho I hope never
to have to use this) and have a current Enhanced CRB.
